What "Suspended" Domains Are:
When a domain reaches its expiration date, it becomes suspended. A domain name remains suspended for 30 days. During this 30 day period only the domain registrant may reactivate the domain name and activate it by renewing it.
What "TBR" Domains Are:
TBR stands for "To Be Released". When a suspended domain is not renewed within the 30 day suspension period, it is “deleted’” and becomes TBR. The domain name remains in TBR status for a minimum of 60 hours.
At the end of this period, there is a 60 minute "special registration period". Due to the high demand for many TBR domains, CIRA has a special registration system in place. Any domain not registered through this system, will be returned to the pool of available domains and will be available for a regular registration.
We are just setting this up but it works on an auction concept with the starting price of 29.90. This includes 2 year registration, assuming you are successful. You can bid on various starting levels, and assuming no one has out bid you the domain , if successful is yours.
The bid levels are
1- 29.90
2- 59.90
3- 99.90
4- 199.90
5- 299.90
6- 399.90
7- 499.90
8- 999.90
9 - 1999.90
10- 3500.00
The minimum TBR domain registration fee is $29.90. If we win the domain name(s) you have selected, the three highest bidders will be advanced to Stage 2 of bidding. If you bid at Level 5 or higher, you will automatically be advanced to Stage 2. If there are more than three Registrants tied for the highest bid, then all of them will be advanced to auction stage.
Important: Your credit card will not be charged for your initial bid. You will only be charged if we win the domain and it is awarded to you at the end of bidding the auction.
